J’Calm Prepares for September EP Release, Showcasing Musical Growth

Kingston, Jamaica – Rising dancehall sensation J’Calm is gearing up to release his new EP this September, marking his second major release of 2024. This upcoming project promises to highlight his evolving musical style and artistic maturity.

J’Calm describes the yet-to-be-titled EP as “a continuation of a story that is self-written, connected to, but definitely different from the Niche album.” He further elaborates, “The EP explores themes that many young men in dancehall music don’t necessarily express through their lyrics. It delves into matters of the heart—soul ties, love, and lust.”

The singer notes that his sound and connection with his audience have grown significantly since his debut. “My sound has evolved beyond just being about my voice. It has evolved into becoming a connection. I think I’ve grown into a more soulful character. The Niche album has taught me a lot about myself and where I need to go. So it’s just a matter of learning about yourself more,” he reflected.

J’Calm hopes that listeners will resonate with the stories he shares, finding relatability and understanding in his music. “This new work is a deeply personal and introspective project. It will take listeners on an emotional journey through unexpected experiences as I share another chapter of my evolving story with the world,” he revealed.

While the title of the EP remains under wraps, the first single, Distance, is already creating a buzz. The track is currently available for pre-save on platforms like Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, Deezer, and Tidal.

Riding the Wave of Success

J’Calm’s rise to prominence began with the release of his debut album Niche in January 2024. The 13-track album, featuring hits like Call My Name, Excited, Guilty, Mrs. Danger, and Living Young, has been well-received.

A major highlight of his career thus far has been collaborating with global dancehall superstar Sean Paul on the remix of Call My Name. Reflecting on the experience, J’Calm shared, “Honestly, working with Sean Paul on this track has been an amazing experience. I was starstruck, but I learned a lot just by being around him. It was also an informative experience. Sean is a persistent performer with a work ethic that’s unmatched. He shared past experiences about working in the music industry, which gave me a different perspective on the entire game.”

The collaboration, which has already surpassed five million streams, is seen by J’Calm as a potential game-changer for his career.
