Despite missing key runners Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce due to injuries, Jamaica’s women’s 4x100m relay team qualified for the final at the Paris Olympics.
The team, composed of Alana Reid, Kemba Nelson, Shashalee Forbes, and Tia Clayton, clocked 42.35 seconds to place third in their heat on Thursday.
Olympic debutantes Reid and Clayton, with Clayton anchoring, secured the automatic qualifying spot with a strong finish, trailing Great Britain (42.03 seconds) and France (42.13 seconds)
