The police have launched a full investigation into the shooting death of a Jamaican-American man in Duhaney Park, St. Andrew, on Saturday night, June 15.
The deceased has been identified as Leonard Williams, who reportedly resided in Norfolk, Virginia, and Abberville Avenue, Kingston 20.
According to reports, around 9:30 p.m., Williams was along Abberville Avenue when he was approached and shot multiple times by unknown assailants. He was assisted to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
At this time, no motive has been established for the fatal attack.
The Hunts Bay Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) is leading the investigation into the matter. Residents with information that may assist the police are being urged to come forward.
