St. Elizabeth, Jamaica – A tragic accident claimed the life of 58-year-old Venroy Blackwood last night, when he fell from his bicycle and drowned in a water-filled pothole in Ridge Pen, St. Elizabeth.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m., and relatives suspect Blackwood was intoxicated at the time of the fall. The pothole, which had been filled with water due to a leaking pipe in the area, became a fatal trap for the cyclist.
Local residents have expressed frustration, describing the pothole as a longstanding issue.
