A six-month-old girl has died following injuries sustained in a house fire that devastated a home in Montpelier, St James, on Tuesday morning.
The incident unfolded in the Guinep Tree area of the community, where a small dwelling constructed of board with a zinc roof was completely destroyed by the blaze.
Emergency reports indicate the fire broke out at approximately 1:00 a.m. Another child was also hurt during the incident and received medical attention.
Firefighters responded to the scene and have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown.
