SPANISH TOWN, St Catherine— The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is investigating the fatal shooting of 38-year-old Anthony Kemar Richards, also known as ‘Ganja’, by the police during an alleged confrontation.
According to reports, around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers conducted a cordon-and-search operation on March Pen Road. Richards allegedly opened fire on the police, who returned fire, injuring him. A 9mm pistol was reportedly seized at the scene.
Richards was taken to Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigations continue.
