Illegal Firearm Seized in Montego Bay

Jamaica Crime News, St James: The Montego Bay police on Saturday, March 2, seized an illegal firearm which was dropped by two men traveling on a motorcycle, while in the process of eluding the police.

No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

Reports by the police are that about 12:15 p.m., the police were on patrol at a section of McCarty Street in Montego Bay, when they saw two men traveling on a motorcycle.

On seeing the lawmen, the men turned the motorcycle and proceeded down the one way, then came to a halt.

The pillion who was carry a floral knapsack jumped from the motorcycle and ran into a yard, while the rider sped away. The police gave chase and the man threw away the bag and also fled the scene.

The knapsack was retrieved and it was found to contain CZ 75 semi contact pistol which was fitted with an empty magazine.
