Farmer Shot and Killed in Montego Bay, Another Man Shot and Injured

Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: One man was shot and killed in Montego Bay, St James on Sunday morning, March 3, and another man shot and injured.

The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Derrick Smith, farmer of Bogue Hill, in Montego Bay, while the injured man who is said to be 46-year-old, is presently at hospital in serious condition.

Reports by the Freeport police are that about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, both men were walking along the roadway in Bogue Hill when they were pounced upon by armed men, who opened fire hitting them multiple times to their upper bodies.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, both men were rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where Smith was pronounced dead and the other man admitted.
