A late-night motor vehicle collision on King Street in downtown Kingston has claimed the life of an ice cream shop operator.
The deceased has been identified as Tamara Manning, a resident of Fletcher’s Land. The fatal incident occurred about 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Reports indicate that Manning was seated on the sidewalk outside her ice cream establishment when two vehicles collided along the busy thoroughfare. Following the impact, one of the cars reportedly veered off the roadway and struck her.
She was transported to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
CCTV footage of the incident reportedly shows the crash unfolding after one motorist attempted to overtake another vehicle.
The Kingston Central Police are continuing their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
