Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) — Veteran reggae artiste I‑Wayne delivered a fiery, message-filled performance during Festival Night Two of Reggae Sumfest 2025, leaving the Catherine Hall crowd chanting his signature “lava” late into the night.
Taking the stage shortly before midnight on Saturday, July 19, the Rastafarian singer, known for his outspoken lyrics and commitment to conscious music, reminded the audience why he remains one of reggae’s most unyielding voices.
Dressed in traditional Rastafarian colours and backed by a tight live band, I‑Wayne opened his set with the hit “Living in Love,” instantly drawing cheers from the massive audience. He followed with favourites like “Can’t Satisfy Her,” “Lava Ground,” and “Life Seeds,” captivating fans with his militant delivery and sharp social commentary.
At one point, he paused to address circulating rumours about his health and career, confidently telling the crowd:
“Mi neva drop down from mi born… so tell dem seh lava still a blaze!”
The crowd erupted in approval, echoing his chants of “lava!” as he continued to deliver a powerful hour-long set filled with spiritual energy and revolutionary lyrics.
