A man identified as D’Angelo Creighton, also known as ‘Hot Head,’ was fatally shot by police in Linstead on Tuesday.
According to authorities, Creighton, a 33-year-old resident of Wakefield district in Linstead, St Catherine, was out on bail for a murder charge at the time of the incident.
Around 12:50 p.m., officers from the Linstead Police Station received information while on patrol and proceeded to a house in Wakefield where Creighton lived. Upon arrival, they reportedly observed Creighton holding a handgun, which he allegedly aimed at the approaching officers.
In response, the police took defensive measures and fired shots at Creighton, resulting in his death.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
