St James, Jamaica – Authorities have recovered the body of a man from a river near the ongoing construction of a bypass road in Irwin.
The deceased is suspected to be one of the two escapees from the Lucea lock-up over the weekend. The recovery was made on Monday, and police believe the man was fatally shot between Sunday night and early Monday morning.
The second escapee has been recaptured and is back in custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
