Hopewell Man Charged with Murder

Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Hopewell Man Charged: The Sandy Bay police have reported that 30-year-old Errol Barrett  who hails from Pump House Lane off Bamboo Drive in Hopewell, Hanover and who was taken into custody in connection with the murder of another man in the community on Friday, January 5th was officially charged with murder earlier this week and dragged before the Court on Thursday.

Barrett is facing charges of murder against 27-year-old Keno Ottey of Zion Road in Hopewell was shot and killed about 1:30 a.m. last Friday along Bamboo Drive whilst coming from a bar in the area.

It is reported that Ottey was walking along Bamboo Drive when he was chased by a lone gunman who shot him several times to death.

The Sandy Bay police were summoned and after they arrived on the scene,  they carried out a series of investigation which led to Barrett being arrested.

Barrett also appeared in Court on Thursday where he was remanded into custody until the second week of February.

Since the start of the year, five persons have been murdered in the parish of Hanover and the police have made breakthrough into two of these killings.
