Hope Bay Farmer Killed in Machete Attack

Hope Bay Farmer Killed: A farmer was brutally chopped to death during an incident in the Content district of Hope Bay, Portland, on Thursday afternoon.

Reports indicate that the attack occurred shortly after noon when the farmer was allegedly set upon by another man. He sustained multiple chop wounds to the head and upper body and died at the scene.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released by the police.

The alleged attacker was taken into police custody as detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

The killing is the latest homicide in the Portland Police Division. According to the latest Jamaica Constabulary Force crime statistics, the division had recorded two murders between January 1 and June 27 this year.
