A woman lost her life following a hit-and-run accident in Spanish Town, St Catherine, earlier this evening.
The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Shadene Wright, of Yallahs, St Thomas, and Six St John’s Road, Spanish Town.
According to reports, around 6:20 p.m., Wright was crossing the road near Six St John’s Road when she was struck by a Honda Fit motorcar. The driver fled the scene, leaving Wright critically injured. She was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The St Catherine North Traffic Department has launched an investigation and is actively searching for the driver involved. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
