The Westmoreland police have achieved another success in their efforts to remove illegal weapons from the streets, with the seizure of a high-powered rifle in the troubled area of Grange Hill.
Reports indicate that around 10:45 p.m., a team of officers conducted an operation in the Geneva district of Grange Hill, searching several areas. During the operation, they discovered a Bushmaster 5.56 rifle in a heavily vegetated area, along with two ballistic vests.
No arrests have been made in connection with the seizure.
