The police have launched an investigation into a fire that razed a haberdashery and its contents in Ocho Rios, St Ann, on Friday night.
Reports indicate that around 8:30 p.m., the operator of the haberdashery locked up the business and left for home. While en route, he received a call informing him that his business was on fire.
He immediately returned to the location, only to find the entire building engulfed in flames. The Fire Department was called, and upon arrival, firefighters were able only to carry out cooling-down operations.
The building and all its contents were destroyed, with damages estimated at approximately $30 million.
