Guy’s Hill, St Catherine – A man who reportedly displayed unusual behavior before locking himself in his room was found dead on Saturday in what police believe to be a case of suicide.
The deceased has been identified as Lavar Barnes, also known as “Log On,” of Waterford District in Guy’s Hill.
Reports indicate that around 10:00 p.m. on Friday, Barnes returned home but refused to eat or communicate with family members before locking himself in his room. Concerned relatives tried checking on him the following morning, but after receiving no response, a family member forcibly entered his room around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Barnes was discovered hanging from the wall with an electrical cord wrapped around his neck.
The Guy’s Hill police were called to the scene, where they processed the area before removing the body.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, and community members are urging increased awareness and support for mental health challenges.
