Kingston, Jamaica — Detectives from the Constant Spring Criminal Investigation Branch are on the hunt for gunmen involved in a deadly shooting in King Weston, Lawrence Tavern, early this morning.
The tragic incident has left one woman dead and two men hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Roshena Gilbert-Morgan, a resident of King Weston district. According to police reports, the shooting occurred around 12:20 a.m. while the victims were engaged in a game of dominoes along a roadway in the community.
Eyewitnesses reported that the peaceful gathering was suddenly interrupted by the sound of gunfire, sending the players and nearby residents into a panic. After the gunshots ceased, it was discovered that Gilbert-Morgan and two men had been struck by bullets.
Residents rushed the injured individuals to the hospital, where Gilbert-Morgan was pronounced dead upon arrival. The two men, whose identities have not been released, remain hospitalized and are reportedly in stable condition.
The police have commenced an investigation into the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist in identifying the attackers to come forward.
