St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Gunmen Elude Joint Military: A dragnet to apprehend a wanted criminal by members of the joint military in the State of Emergency prove unsuccessful on Tuesday afternoon, however,  the security forces are now saying they will not cease until this particular wanted man and any other such criminals are brought to justice.

Reports are that shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the security acted upon intelligence and carried out a special operation to apprehend a wanted gunman who is said to have been creating terror and mayhem in sections of Lilliput in St James.

It is further stated that upon the approach of the soldiers at a section of the area, they came under heavy gunfire from the wanted man and his cronies.

The security forces returned the fire and a heated gunbattle ensued.

At length, the shooting subsided and the gunmen were seen running in various directions.

Presently,  the military says they have narrowed down the area and they are now carrying out house to house searches in search of the gunmen.

None of the security team was shot.
