An angry crowd in Mount Peace, Hanover, disarmed one of three men who attacked another man with an illegal firearm on Saturday, before handing over the weapon to the police.
According to reports, around 10:00 AM, a verbal confrontation broke out between the three men and another man from the community. During the altercation, one of the attackers drew an illegal firearm from his waistband.
Several community members intervened, declaring they would not allow the attackers to harm the victim. The residents managed to disarm the gunman, causing him and his accomplices to flee the scene on foot.
The incident was reported to the police, and the illegal firearm was handed over to them.
The Lucea police are currently seeking the three men involved.
