Genique makes huge strides on Hip-Hop Charts

Jamaican-raised Queens native Genique is making huge strides on the US iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Songs Chart with her latest single “Hasta La Vista”. Released on August 9, 2024 on all major platforms along with an official music video on YouTube, the track has been gaining traction everywhere. It finally hit the charts on August 17th.

Debuting at number 35, “Hasta La Vista” made an upward trajectory to 23, then 20 for awhile before breaking into the top 20 at number 19 within a few hours, resting in that spot for the rest of the night. Genique is ecstatic at the song’s success.

“I’ve never been on the charts so this feels like a great accomplishment. It feels like my hard work is finally paying off, just gotta keep my foot on the gas. It’s a great song and a great crossover of cultures. I’m very proud of it,” Genique told this writer.

The hip-hop track has Genique’s signature dancehall elements, keeping true to her Jamaican roots. “Hasta La Vista” is brilliantly crafted to showcase her versatility, uniqueness and lyrical mastery. It was produced by Blizzi God and Genique herself under her management’s label KLK Music.
