St Elizabeth, Jamaica — Police in St Elizabeth have launched an investigation into the tragic death of a woman who was fatally injured by a falling gate in Pedro Plain on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Donna Ebanks, a housekeeper from Round Hill in the parish.
Reports are that around 2:10 p.m., Ebanks was attempting to operate an electronic gate when it malfunctioned and collapsed on her. She sustained serious injuries during the incident.
Ebanks was rushed to the Black River Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
