Spanish Town Gang Members Charged; Set For Court Month End
St. Catherine, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Gang Members Charged: The police have reported that men from the One Order and Clansman gangs have visited several business places in and around the Spanish Town commercial area, where they demanded and collected money from business owners in exchange for protection. The gangsters have even threatened to set the business establishments ablaze if their demands were not met.
Three members of these notorious gangs are now behind bars and are to face the courts at the end of the month, after they were arrested and charged by police on the weekend under the Anti-Gang legislation.
The three men are 29-year-old Donovan Richards, otherwise called ‘Godville’, of Spanish Town in St Catherine. He has been charged for professing to be a member of a criminal organization; 37-year-old Omar Pertrie, also known as ‘Freezer’, and 21-year old Tashoma Heslop, otherwise called ‘Shane’, both of March Pen Road in the parish. They were both charged with participating in a criminal organization and extortion. The men were arrested and charged on Friday following a police operation.
The three accused are scheduled to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday, October 31.
