Four Wooden Houses Destroyed in Dunbeholden Fire; Six Families Left Homeless

PORTMORE, St. Catherine — A fast-spreading fire tore through a residential yard in the Dunbeholden area of Portmore today, leaving four wooden homes completely destroyed and six families without shelter.

Residents reported that the blaze began at approximately 12:32 p.m. and quickly moved through the tightly packed structures before firefighters could gain control of the flames.

Firefighters from both Spanish Town and Portmore responded to the scene and successfully contained the fire, preventing further damage within the densely populated community.

The Jamaica Fire Brigade has dispatched investigators to the area as they work to establish the cause of the blaze. Meanwhile, the displaced families are appealing for support as they begin the process of recovery
