St Andrew, Jamaica — Former Member of Parliament Jolyan Silvera has admitted guilt to a charge of manslaughter arising from the fatal shooting of his wife, Melissa Silvera, in 2023.
Melissa Silvera was discovered dead at the couple’s Stony Hill residence on November 10, 2023. The incident prompted a police investigation that later led to criminal charges against the former legislator.
Silvera was taken into custody in January 2024 and formally charged in connection with the killing. He has remained behind bars since his arrest.
Court proceedings are continuing in the matter, with further updates expected.
