Olympique Marseille winger Mason Greenwood has reportedly begun the process of switching his international allegiance from England to Jamaica. The 22-year-old, who played for England’s senior national team once in 2020, is eligible for a change under FIFA rules as he was under 21 at the time of his appearance.
According to reports, the Football Association (FA) has provided registration paperwork to the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) to formalize the switch. Greenwood, eligible to represent Jamaica through his paternal grandparents, has been seen training in a Reggae Boyz jersey multiple times. His decision follows the appointment of Steve McLaren as the new head coach of the Jamaican national team.
