Jamaica News, March 24, 2018 – Fly Jamaica Airways Crew Member Arrested
New York, USA (McKoy’s News) – A Fly Jamaica Airways crew member was caught at New York’s JFK airport with US$160,000 or JMD$20 million (street value) worth of cocaine taped to his legs, officials said. The man identified as Hugh Hall was found with 9lbs of cocaine taped to his legs at JFK airport by United States Customs and Border Protection.
Hugh Hall was arrested after Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers found four packages of cocaine under his pants, a CBP spokesperson said.
Hall allegedly had about nine pounds of cocaine taped to his legs. The drugs were found during a random cabin crew screen.
“This seizure is another example of our CBP officers being ever vigilant in protecting the United States from the distribution of illicit drugs,” Acting Director of CBP’s New York Field Operations, Leon Hayward said.
Hall faces US federal narcotics smuggling charges and has been held in custody after facing the court on Thursday afternoon, March 22, where he plead guilty.
Neither Mr Hall’s lawyer’s or Fly Jamaica Airways representatives were able to comment on this matter.
