Fisherman Succumbs to Gunshot Injuries at Hospital

The St Catherine police have confirmed that a 28-year-old man, who was shot and seriously injured in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine, last Thursday, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital over the weekend.

The deceased, identified as Mario Lindsay of Portmore Villa Drive, died on Saturday while being treated at the hospital.

Reports indicate that last Thursday, Lindsay went home to collect some fish to sell to customers in his community. Immediately after leaving his house, Lindsay was ambushed and shot multiple times by armed men, who then escaped on foot.

Residents in the community alerted the police. Upon their arrival, Lindsay was discovered lying along the roadway in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated and admitted in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
