Authorities in St Ann are investigating after the body of a fisherman was discovered on a reef line at Dunn’s River on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Darran Grant from the Roaring River district. Reports indicate that Grant had gone spear fishing in the area prior to the incident.
A reef line, the edge of a coral or rock reef, is known to be a prime fishing spot. Grant’s body was retrieved and taken to St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Ocho Rios Criminal Investigation Branch is leading the inquiry.
