THOMPSON PEN, St. Catherine – A joint police/military operation in Old Road, Thompson Pen, led to the seizure of four pistols, three 9mm rounds of ammunition, and the arrest of one man on Sunday, following a shooting incident the previous night.
According to the Spanish Town Police, at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, three individuals — including two women — were at a shop when they were attacked by gunmen on foot. The assailants opened fire, injuring all three victims. They were rushed to hospital, with one man reported to be in critical condition.
In swift response to the attack, security forces launched a joint operation in the area. Around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, a search of a house occupied by a man uncovered four pistols and three rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The man was taken into custody. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
The St. Catherine North Police Division continues to investigate both the shooting and the firearm seizure, working to establish any connection between the two incidents and to identify additional suspects.
