Port Antonio, Portland (McN) – Two children escaped with minor injuries, as fire destroyed their home in Norwich, Portland on Monday morning (Feb. 6), leaving nothing to be salvaged.
The children’s aunt, Lisa Brown, states that the children saved themselves – one of them jumped through a window, says their aunt.
Two children, ages 11 and 5-year-old, received minor burns to the hands and feet when the house in which they lived in Norwich, Portland caught on fire on Monday.
Reports are that around 1:50 am, Portland Fire Brigade received a call about the burning house, and a unit from the Port Antonio fire station responded.
According to Assistant Superintendent in charge of the Portland Fire Brigade, Everol Brown, the two bedroom board house was burnt flat to the ground.
The fire brigade had difficult getting to the location due to bad road conditions.
