Female Vendor Murdered in St Mary

Jamaica Crime News, St Mary: Female Vendor Murdered Forty-year-old Valerie Richards, a female vendor of Gibraltar District, in Annotto Bay, St Mary, was shot and killed, and a male companion shot and injured by gunmen, along the Annotto Bay main road and the Cargill Lane intersection, on Sunday morning, May 26.

Reports are that about 12:15 a.m., Richards was traveling as a pillion on a motorcycle, being ridden by a male companion.

On reaching the Annotto Bay main road intersection, two men armed with guns jumped from bushes and opened fire on the two.

Richards and the rider both received multiple gunshot wounds, which resulted in the rider losing control of the motorcycle and crashed.

Both victims were assisted to the hospital by other motorists where Richards was pronounced dead, and the male rider treated, and admitted in serious condition.
