Female Retiree Perish In Motor Vehicle Accident along Bog Walk Gorge

Jamaica News, St Catherine: An 85-year-old female of a St Catherine address lost her life in a motor vehicle accident along the Bog Walk Gorge on Wednesday, April 24, after a motor truck collided into the minibus in which she was traveling.

She has been identified as Imogene Hamilton, retiree of a Bueno Vista address also in St. Catherine.

Two other passengers who were traveling in the bus and the driver of the motor truck which plunged into the Gorge narrowly escaped being killed and are presently at hospital in serious condition.

Reports by the police are that shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Ms. Hamilton and other passengers were traveling in a Toyota Town Ace minibus towards the directions of the Gorge.

On reaching the Ribbies Corner, the driver of the motor truck who was traveling in the opposite directions, failed to keep to his left and crashed head-on into the oncoming minibus.

The truck then plunged into the Gorge but swift actions by other motorist ended up in the rescue of the driver.

He along with Ms. Hamilton and two other passengers in the bus sustained injuries to their bodies and were rushed to hospital where Hamilton was pronounced dead, and the other three victims admitted in serious condition.
