Fear Grips Standpipe Following Murder of Popular Cook Shop Owner

ST. ANDREW, Jamaica: Standpipe cook shop owner murdered — Residents of Standpipe are once again living in fear following another deadly shooting in the community.

The latest victim, a cook shop owner known by the alias “Whopper,” was shot and killed sometime after midnight.

Preliminary reports indicate that the businessman was hit approximately six times during the attack. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The motive for the killing has not yet been established.

The incident comes just days after another fatal attack in the community, when a domestic dispute reportedly claimed a life last Friday, further heightening tensions among residents.

Police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the latest murder and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
