St. James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Fatal Lilliput Bike Accident: A Trelawny taxi operator who plies the Montego Bay route to Falmouth was admitted to the Falmouth Hospital in critical condition after he was stabbed almost to death by angry residents in Lilliput, on Tuesday morning, June 27, following his involvements in a fatal accident with a motorcyclist along the Lilliput main road.
The police related that the identity of the motorcyclist is not yet known, but it is understood that he is from the said Lilliput community.
Reports are that, shortly after 2:00 am on Tuesday, the taxi operator who plies the Falmouth to Montego Bay route was transporting passengers from Falmouth towards the second city.
Fatal Lilliput Bike Accident: It is further reported that, on reaching a section of the Lilliput main road, the motorcyclist was allegedly in the process of going across the roadway without lights on the motorbike when the motor car slammed into the taxi.
The motorcyclist was knocked to the pavement while the taxi operator lost control of the vehicle which crashed along the roadway.
Immediately as he alighted from the car, angry residents in the area set upon him and stabbed him several times almost to death.
The angry residents then proceeded to set his car on fire.
Both victims along with two passengers were transported to the Falmouth Hospital where the motorcycle rider was pronounced dead and the taxi operator admitted in critical condition.
The two passengers were treated and admitted.
