Family Trip Turns Tragic After Two Brothers Drown in Portland

PORTLAND, Jamaica—A family trip turned tragic yesterday when two brothers drowned in the Skibo District river in Portland.

The victims have been identified as 31-year-old Adrainnie Ivery and 21-year-old Tafuta Wigan, both from Trelawny.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when the brothers were swimming with relatives during the outing. One of the men reportedly got into difficulty while in the water, and his brother, in an attempt to save him, also ran into trouble. Tragically, both men submerged and failed to resurface.

A search was conducted, and after some time, their bodies were recovered. Heartbreakingly, their mother revealed that the two brothers were found holding on to each other.

The grieving mother expressed her deep sorrow, saying she is trying to stay strong during this incredibly difficult time.
