Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – With just days to go before Jamaicans head to the polls, the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) has confirmed that more than 7,250 polling stations will be deployed across all 63 constituencies on Election Day, Tuesday, September 3.
Director of Elections Glasspole Brown says the expanded setup is aimed at accommodating the over 50,000 personnel mobilized for the election — including presiding officers, clerks, supervisors, and one-day police officers — to ensure a smooth, transparent, and secure voting process.
Brown emphasized the importance of voter discipline at the polls and is urging all electors to cooperate with election workers, maintain order, and respect the secrecy of the ballot.
The EOJ has assured the public that all necessary measures have been put in place to guarantee that the voting process runs efficiently and safely, allowing citizens to exercise their democratic right without fear or confusion.
Polling stations will officially open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. However, voters already in line at closing time will still be allowed to cast their ballots.
As Election Day approaches, the EOJ continues its push for public awareness, urging citizens to stay informed and participate peacefully in this critical moment for Jamaican democracy.
