Hanover, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – ELDERLY WOMAN PERISHED IN HANOVER FIRE: The police in Hanover have joined forces with members of the Hanover Fire Department and, are now carrying out investigations to determine the origin of a fire which claimed the life of a golden ager in the parish on Saturday morning, June 17.
The victim as been identified has Doris Barrett Kellier, 84-year-old of Prospect district, in Hanover.
Reports are that, about 1:00 am on Saturday morning, resident in Prospect district raised an alarm after fire was seen coming from a section of the elderly woman’s house.
Community members made several attempt to put-out the fire but, due to lack of proper water system, the building was quickly engulfed in flames.
Residents then alerted the fire department but, the house and all it contents were dissolved in the burning inferno. Upon the arrival of the fire fighters they could only carry out cooling down operation.
A search of the ruins was carried out by the firemen, which resulted in the gruesome discovery of Keller’s burnt body.
