A targeted police operation in Cave Valley, Green Island, Hanover, on Monday, February 23, has resulted in the arrest of eight individuals, including one woman, after a prohibited firearm was reportedly discovered.
According to police reports, a team assigned to the Hanover Policing Division carried out the early morning exercise at approximately 6:30 a.m. During a search of a premises in the community, officers reportedly uncovered a Kanuni S firearm inside a bedroom.
The weapon was found with a magazine attached containing a single 9mm round, investigators said.
The identities of those taken into custody are being withheld as investigations continue.
