Kingston Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Dr Winston Green – A ninth night to remember!: The ‘wake’ of the late S.E. St Mary Member of Parliament, Dr Winston Green, was held last night in Annotto Bay, St Mary.
Dr Green died suddenly after collapsing at home and then taken to the hospital last week Monday (August 14, 2017) morning. As news of his death spread, many persons were shocked and left in awe at the sudden passing of a man who went beyond the call of duty for his constituents from both “sides of the fence”.
Because of the kind of man Dr Green was, he had persons from all walks of society attending his wake last night.
There were buses and fleets of cars which transported persons who came from far distances to pay their tribute to a man who they will never forget.
The Orange Army also had a very strong contingent represented at the ‘wake’ last night.
The thanksgiving service of the late Dr. Green is scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the St Andrew Parish Church in Half Way Tree, starting at 11:00 a.m. His body will then be laid to rest at Meadowrest Gardens.
As you can see in one of the pictures below, the candlelight holders were placed to form the words ‘DR GREEN’. Very sentimental, I would say!
RIP DR GREEN
