St Catherine, Jamaica: A shooting incident on Sunday afternoon in Gregory Park, St Catherine, has resulted in the deaths of two men and left another injured.
The deceased have been identified as 29-year-old Kemar Williams, also known as ‘Leaon’ or ‘Ghetto Bear’, a tyre repairman from Main Street, Gregory Park, and a man known as Odaine Beal. The injured man is reported to be a taxi driver and bar operator.
According to police reports, around 2:45 p.m., the three men were engaged in conversation and drinking when a grey motor car approached the group. Two armed men exited the vehicle and immediately opened fire.
Williams was struck in the upper body, while Beal sustained gunshot wounds to his hip, thigh, and the back of his head.
The victims were rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where Williams and Beal were pronounced dead on arrival. The taxi driver who was also shot has since been admitted to the hospital in stable condition.
Detectives recovered nineteen spent nine-millimetre casings and several bullet fragments from the scene. The investigation into the deadly attack is ongoing.
