Sanjay Thompson, also known as DJ Range, tragically lost his life in a fatal accident, along the Cave main road in Westmoreland on Friday.
The 30-year-old, originally from Clarendon and residing at Fairview Boulevard in Spanish Town, was working as a sideman on a white 2006 Freightliner M2 truck, which had left the Corporate Area to deliver goods in Savanna-la-Mar.
According to reports, DJ Range was seated in the back of the truck when disaster struck. An oncoming waste management truck, traveling in the opposite direction, had its back right door swing open—apparently not properly secured. The door hit DJ Range, who was sitting near the impact point.
As a result, DJ Range sustained severe head injuries. He was rushed to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine whether proper safety precautions were in place on both vehicles.
