Jamaica News, April 4, 2018 – Devil Charged with Double Murder 

St Catherine, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – A St Catherine man who was being sought in connection with the shooting death of two men, and the shooting and wounding of another in the parish in 2017, was recently arrested during the State of Public Emergency. He was slapped with double murder charges and shooting charges on Saturday, March 31.

He has been identified as Stephen Rhoden, otherwise called “Devil“, 24-year-old unemployed of Mickleton District in Linstead, St Catherine.

Reports are that about 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, the two deceased 28-year-old Vaughn Gordon of Vanity Fair and 36-year-old Jevando Morgan, laborer of Charlemont along with another man, were standing along Royal Avenue in Linstead when they were ambushed by armed men.

The gunmen opened fire hitting all three men which resulted in the death of both victims and the wounding of another.

Rhoden was picked up and arrested on Thursday, March 22, during a joint military operation carried out in the State of Public Emergency in St Catherine North Division.

Following investigations, he was officially charged on Saturday, March 31, with the double murder of both men. He is now booked to appear in the St Catherine Parish Court on Thursday April 16.
