Negril, Westmoreland – The decomposing body of a man has been found in the aftermath of a house fire in Negril early this morning. The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Orville Rowe, a labourer from Old School Road, Negril.
Reports indicate that at approximately 12:30 a.m., firefighters and police responded to an emergency call regarding a house engulfed in flames. Upon extinguishing the fire, first responders conducted a search of the premises, during which Rowe’s body was discovered on a bed on the first floor.
The condition of the body suggests that it had been there for some time, raising concerns about the circumstances of Rowe’s death prior to the fire. His remains have been removed for further examination and storage, pending a post-mortem investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
The Negril police are actively investigating the incident, seeking to uncover the details surrounding both the fire and Rowe’s death.
