Dear McKoy: Sixteen and Pregnant

Sixteen and Pregnant

Dear McKoy,

I am a 16 year old female and I am pregnant. The problem is that I am pregnant with my sister’s husband’s child.

My sister and I grew up very close and I feel bad. Her husband has always been nice to me, ever since we first met. He was always affectionate towards me and he has always been defending me. He is not yet aware that I am pregnant with his child and I am not sure I should tell him.

My sister on the other hand I don’t really care for. What should I do? Should I tell him? Should I keep the father of my child a secret?

Response:

“My sister and I grew up very close and I feel bad.” “My sister on the other hand, I don’t really care for.”

Evidence why 16-year-old children should not be having children. He needs to be arrested for grooming and carnal abuse.

Who’s going to care for the child, if he doesn’t know? Are you capable of living on your own and caring for that child? You need to tell him and your sister.

This situation needs adult attention. I’m worried about this child becoming  a statistic of poverty. Hope, you are able to finish school. You are going to need an education regardless.
