Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Councillor Administrators are Underpaid: Mayor of Montego Bay Homer Davis recently pointed out that an Administrator that is employed to a Councilor plays a vital role in the day to day running of the Councillor’s Division. According to the Mayor, this is a new initiative which was implemented by the Minister of Local Government where the specific individual monitors the duties set forth by the Councillor in his Division and ensures that the relevant duties are carried out.
The Mayor was speaking at a recent interview with the media following a misadventure involving a female Administrator employed by one of the Councillors at the Municipal Corporation. He stated that all Administrators employed by Councillors are underpaid and only receive a small stipend of $25,000 each month and he personally thinks they are being underpaid to carry out their duties.
