CLARENDON, Jamaica — A woman tragically lost her life on Sunday evening in Clarendon following an alleged accidental discharge from her boyfriend’s firearm. The boyfriend, a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), is at the center of an investigation into the incident.
Reports indicate that the couple was getting dressed at a hotel when the policeman’s firearm allegedly discharged unintentionally. The bullet struck the woman, causing fatal injuries.
Emergency services were summoned, but the woman was pronounced dead shortly after the incident.
The JCF has launched a formal investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Investigators will examine whether proper firearm safety protocols were observed and will conduct interviews as part of the inquiry.
