Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: A man who the Clarendon police say was on top of the list of most wanted men in the parish was shot and killed by members of the security forces on Saturday morning.
The dead man has been identified so far only as, “Haye or Hitta”, of a Capture Land address also in Clarendon.
Reports by the police are that about 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, a joint military team carried out an operation in the area in search of the wanted man.
It is further reported that, upon reaching a board dwelling house located at a section of Jim Street known as Capture Land, the most wanted ran outside and challenged them in a shootout. The lawmen took evasive action and returned the fire during what time the gunman was shot.
He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. In the meanwhile, the Clarendon police stated that the deceased was being sought in connection with several shooting and murders which have taken place across the parish.
