St Elizabeth, Jamaica: The St Elizabeth police have reported that criminal charges have been filed against a man who allegedly stabbed another man to death in New Market, Compton district, St. Elizabeth, on Wednesday morning.
The accused, identified as 23-year-old Romane Deenwell, also known as ‘Chineyman’, has been charged with the murder of 22-year-old Onandi Bell, also known as ‘Nandi’, a laborer from Compton district.
According to reports, around 10:00 am, both men were in the vicinity of New Market when Bell was approached by ‘Chineyman’, leading to an argument between them.
During the altercation, Deenwell allegedly wielded a knife, inflicting several stab wounds to Bell’s upper body before fleeing the scene.
The police were notified, and upon arrival, Bell was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following investigations, Deenwell was apprehended and charged on Thursday.
